This is a Suzy Karadsheh recipe from the Mediterranean Dish website. It’s one of our favorites. I did make the hummus from scratch. The way I usually serve this one is to get a big platter, spread the hummus, then put the hamburger mixture on top, then a layer of fresh tomatoes. I love the seasonings for the meat. It calls for allspice, sumac, and cinnamon.
The Sumac salad complimented the meat dish really well. I also had some garlic nan to eat with the dip.
The toasted orzo was a hit, even though I didn’t have any sundried tomatoes. Oh well. It was still really good. I’ve been liking orzo lately, have used it several times.
